    The Act of Union is enacted in England which united the kingdoms of England and Scotland to form Great Britain. Parliaments of both England and Scotland were subsequently disolved and replaced with on Parliament of Great Britain.
  • May 1st 1045 : Gregory VI elected Pope
    Gregory VI, John Gratian, is elected Pope upon the resignation of Benedict IX. In reality, Gregory purchased the papacy from Benedict IX for a large sum of money and was forced to abdicate just one year later.
