    Comedian Richard Pryor, while on a cocaine binge, attempted to commit suicide by dousing himself with rum and setting it ablaze. He later contracted multiple sclerosis and died in 2005 of cardiac arrest.

  • June 9th 68 : Nero commits suicide
    Emperor Nero, who according to legend played his violin while Rome burned, commited suicide by having his secretary slit his throat. His suicide was so he could evade a Senate-imposed death sentence by flogging.
