![]() Piper Perabo: Multi-TalentedPiper Perabo was born Piper Lisa Perabo on October 31, 1976 in Toms River, New Jersey. She was named after Piper Laurie. Piper is Portuguese through her father and Norwegian American through her mother. In 1998 she graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting. She then relocated to New York in order to pursue an acting career. Her first movie role came in a short film known as Single Spaced. Whiteboyz, in which she portrayed the girlfriend of a guy questing after a rapper career, proved to be her first big movie. This was followed by another short film, Knuckleface Jones. In 2000 she was cast in The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle in a leading character roll. After portraying the role of FBI agent Karen Sympathy she landed a break-our role in Coyote Ugly, portraying the role of Violet Sanford, the character who moves to New York in order to become a songwriter. For this role, Perabo took voice, guitar, piano and bartending lessons to prepare. She went on to win an MTV Movie Award. The following year she landed a role in a Canadian independent film called Lost and Delirious. This was followed with She Gets What She Wants, which was released in Europe under its original name, Slap Her, She’s French and a small role in Cheaper by the Dozen as well as the 2005 sequel. Perabo’s other film works include George and the Dragon, Imagine Me & You and Edison. |
