Bruce Willis: Die Hard

Walter Bruce Willis was born March 19, 1955 at an American military base in Germany. After his father was discharged from the military two years later the family moved to Penns Grove, New Jersey. Although he had a stutter during his childhood years, Willis was reportedly an outgoing child. He began performing on stage in high school. Willis did not attend college after high school. Instead he began working at the DuPont Chambers Works factory in New Jersey. After a co-worker was killed on the job, he quit. For awhile he played the harmonica for an R&B group. He also worked for awhile as a bodyguard. After enrolling in a drama program at Monclair State University he was cast in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

He left college during his junior year to move to New York to pursue an acting career. In 1985 he was cast in the TV series Moonlighting and shot to fame as a comedic actor. His role in the Die Hard series helped to further solidify his stardom. For awhile during the late 1980’s he worked as a recording artist, even recording an album; The Return of Bruno. By the early 90s his career had entered somewhat of a slump. When he landed a role in Pulp Fiction; however, he was able to revive it. Subsequent roles included Twelve Monkeys and Armageddon. The peak in his career did not last long; however, and by the mid-90’s he was experiencing yet another slump. Much like Pulp Fiction, The Sixth Sense, revitalized his career. Willis has also appeared in the successful sitcom Friends. Willis was married to actress Demi Moore for thirteen years. Willis has three daughters with Moore; Rumer, Scout and Tallulah.
