Yasmine Bleeth: Baywatch Beauty

Yasmine Bleeth was born Yasmine Amanda Bleeth on June 14, 1968 in New York City. Her rather unique first name is actually a Persian take on the name Jasmine. Bleeth’s most notable claim to fame is her role as Caroline Holden on the very popular television series Baywatch. Yasmine’s father is of Jewish Russian and German ancestry while her mother is a Pied-noir. Bleeth made her entry into the world of show business when she was just 10 months old, appearing in a commercial for Johnson & Johson’s No More Tears baby shampoo. With a mother who was a former fashion model and a professional photographer father, Bleeth continued her foray into the business. When she was six she appeared in a Max Factor cosmetic campaign, which led to subsequent work. As a child she attended the United Nations International School in Manhattan and was educated in both French and English. Her first movie role came when she was just 12 when she landed a role in the film Hey Babe! After graduating high school she worked for awhile on the soap opera Ryan’s Hope. She later went on to appear as Lee Anne Demerest on the soap opera One Life to Live. For a period of time after her mother’s sudden death from breast cancer when she was 20, Bleeth became depressed and did not act or model for several months. After returning to her field she was cast for Baywatch and moved to Los Angeles.

In 2000 she voluntarily entered a rehab clinic in order to overcome an addition to cocaine. The following year she was arrested for a traffic incident and the police discovered drug paraphanelia in her possession. She pled guilty to the possession and driving while impaired charges. She was sentenced to two years probation and 100 hours of community service. After completing the terms of her probation in 2004, her record was cleared. In 2002 Bleeth married Paul Cerrito, whom she met a rehab. The couple makes their home in Los Angeles.
