    The trial of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, accused of treason and being Soviet spies begins. Despite the controversy surrounding the case, they were both found guilty and eventually executed in the electric chair.
  • March 6th 1857 : The United States Supreme Court rules on the Dred Scott Case
    The United States Supreme Court issued its decision for the case Dred Scott v. Sandford. The court ruled that no African Americans could become U.S. citizens and were an "inferior order". This case was a key cause of the American Civil War.
  • March 6th 1521 : Ferdinand Magellan arrives in Guam
    Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan arrives in Guam. Magellan led the first sucessful attempt to circumnavigate the Earth. He was killed in the Phillipines and did not complete his final voyage.
