More on Mandy Moore

Inspired to start singing by the musical “Oklahoma!”, Mandy Moore began singing the National Anthem at various sports events around Orlando, Florida. She performed so much that she became known as the “National Anthem girl.” Mandy got a lucky break at the age of 14. In an Orlando recording studio, she was noticed by a Fed-Ex worker who had a contact at Sony. After recording a demo for Sony, she landed a contract with them and released her first record at the age of 15.

Mandy Moore first began touring with the Backstreet Boys, and soon found that the hectic schedule made a typical school situation difficult. Wanting to go to college, she decided to hire a tutor so that she could continue her education through correspondence.

Mandy Moore is not quite as popular as some other female singers, but she is talented in music and acting. Cast in A Walk to Remember, Mandy won the MTV Movie Award for this first venture into film. She has also played in the movies Try Seventeen and How to Deal.

With four original albums and a greatest hit album, she is doing fairly well in the music industry as well. Although not topping the charts in the U.S., Mandy Moore’s debut song “Candy” hit no. 1 on Australian Charts. With time and more exposure, Mandy Moore will deliver more talent and probably be recognized with many awards.
